Be Kind

Sometimes people hurt me. They hurt me with what they say or write. I know it is my fault that I take offense to what they say. I hate it. I hate that I get so worked up about something so small and many times it ruins my day. I know I am not the only one out there who does this- so my first resolution for the new year is to try and not do anything that might offend someone and ruin their day- but to do the opposite. I want to make their day. I am going to try harder to compliment and be nice to everyone. I know I won't be perfect, but this is my new goal.

Christmas 2010

Merry Christmas!

We spent Christmas with the Potters this year. It was wonderful!! Mikah had so much fun with his grandma, grandpa, aunts and uncles. We all got spoiled. Mikah got a lot of Elmo stuff and every time he opened it he would get really excited and say "Melmo!" It was so cute! I feel so blessed to have wonderful in-laws that are so good to our little family and fun to be with.

Fishes............

We went up to the Living Planet Auqarium in Salt Lake today. We got season passes a few (6 or so) months ago and decided to go back. Last time Mikah slept through most of it, this time he LOVED it. He loved sitting on this frog and sliding down:

He would run up to the glass and climb on the step so he could see.

This is a tiny sea horse. He was my favorite part. (note: the blurry thing is my finger, that's how small he is!)

He loved pushing the buttons and hearing different sounds.
Here is a big snake in the water. He has a a guinea pig wrapped up to eat. Crazy.

We had a great day as a family and finished it off with a delicous dinner at my sister Michelle's and went to the movies with my family (thanks dad). We saw Tangeled and loved it. Mikah was so good!

18 months

I can't believe my baby is 18 months. I know I say this all the time, but SERIOUSLY, time goes by so quickly. He is so smart and learning new things everyday. Here are a few (or more than a few) things he does.

-Says love you "wuv you" on command. It is so cute!

- He loves books "boots." He has started to not like to sit there and just listen, he just wants to flip through the book and point at things.

- Instead of saying, "no, no, no, no, no!!", he says "NO WAY!"

- When someone is leaving or saying goodbye on the phone, he gets really upset and cries. So if you come to visit, avoid saying goodbye and sneak out.

- He loves to spin in circles and get dizzy. He just laughs and laughs and falls down.

- He knows most of his body parts. He loves pointing to body parts and say nose "nos," or whatever part he is pointing to.

- He loves eating and always wants a cookie "tookie". When I make anything in the oven, he thinks it's a cookie.

- After hundreds and hundreds of pictures, he has learned to say "cheese" and smile.

- He throws everything. It is a really bad habit. He threw a little tile at me the other day and o my! did that hurt!

- He knows a lot of animal noises. If I ever need his attention, all I have to say is "Mikah, what does a cow say?" and he promptly replies "Moooo!" The other day I couldn't find him (that is really sad to say because our house is so little) I knew he wasn't in the bathroom because the door was closed. I walked in the kitchen, his room, our room and the living room saying, "Mikah where are you?" No sound. I was really getting nervous. I then asked, "what does a cow say?" Once again, he said, "moooo!" It took me a few seconds to figure out where he was..he was in the kitchen closing the pantry door on him. He was laughing so hard.

- He loves drinks. He always wants something in his sippy cup. His favorite is juice "duce," but also likes water "wawa," or milk "milt".

- He loves to be outside. I wish it wasn't so cold.

- He loves Mickey, Elmo, Big Bird and Thomas the Train. He loves watching them on the TV and reading books about them.

- He climbs on EVERYTHING. The other day when Jordan was getting something to wipe off his face after dinner, he decided to climb out of his high chair and climb on the table. Crazy kid. He is going to be climbing out if his crib before I'm ready for that.

- He is a little tease and his little personality is getting to be so fun!

I love you Mikah. You are so fun and I am so thankful that I get to be your mommy!

Farmer Christmas Party

After the King Christmas Party we had our own little Farmer Christmas Party.

Santa came and brought Mikah this truck.

He loves it!

Then we all got our turn to sit on Santa's lap and get a present.

We had a yummy potato bar for dinner and all got to take these yummy treats home!

(this is why I gain weight during the holidays - I love cooked goods!)

I am so happy I get to spend Christmas with my little family. I'm so lucky!

School is out in a week and a half. I'm so excited! I am only taking 6 credits next

semester so I hope I have more free time!

King Christmas Party

On Saturday we went to the Annual King Christmas Party. It was great to see everyone and enjoy time as a family. Here are a few things to note:

-There was a table for dinner food (ham, potatoes and more) and 2 tables for treats.

-Most of my uncles are cowboys, so I dressed Mikah in his Wranglers.

There is a talent show. Mikah's talent was to say all the animal noises- but he didn't do it. He got up there and wouldn't answer our questions (ex: What does a cow say?) The only thing he did was say "CHEESE!!" when my aunt came up to take his pictures.

This was the hit of the whole party. My cousin Tyson (huge BYU fan) did something to my cousin Kass (Huge Ute Fan) and he had to get up and sing the Ute song. He did a little comedy act as "The Typical Ute Fan" So funny!

Mikah couldn't decide if he liked Santa or not.

Mikah loved opening his present. He got a little bear and an Elmo DVD.

SNOW!!!!

This morning we woke up to snow. A lot of snow. I was really excited because we just got Mikah a snow coat and my mom bought him some snow pants, so it was perfect timing. One thing we didn't have was snow boots. I tried to improvise with plastic bags on his shoes :( That didn't last long, he kept slipping and ending up like this:We wanted to make a big snow man with all the snow, but the snow wasn't very packy (that's a new word). We ended up with this wimpy one. Mikah loved it though and gave him a hug.As we all know, Mikah is obsessed with balls. Whether it be baseball, basketball, golf ball, football and now a snow ball. If he sees any snow he yells "ball, ball, ball" and wants to play in it.



After awhile in the snow, we headed in and had some hot chocolate. Yummy!


I hope in the next few days I can find a good deal on some snow boots so when it snows again, we'll be prepared! :D
